Every Garment Has a Story at Chic and You Shall Find

Brenna Egan is an LA-based television and film wardrobe stylist and former Vogue staffer. Her vintage clothing website, Chic and You Shall Find, offers buyers a little something extra with their purchase; a little backstory.

Featured in the July issue of Entrepreneur, Egan is credited with, “hunting down covetable clothes and writing tall-tales copy and also acts as the site’s photographer and model booker, shooting professionals and amateurs (her friends, mostly) at her house in Los Angeles.”

“That’s why I’m super picky about what I buy,” Egan says. “Posting each piece is a labor of love.”

MORE THAN OKAY BOUQUET DRESS, $90: “In terms of men, it was slim pickings for Polly in the summer of ’72. So she decided to ditch the dating realm and cultivate her interest in nature. At the end of the summer, she found herself without a man, without a care in the world, and a collection of 100 yards of daisy chains.”

EASY BREEZY DEJA DRESS, $40: “It was the perfect date. Not too hot, not too cold, all Blythe needed was a light jacket for her picnic with Mr. Right Now. Mini PB&Js, screw-top wine, and a crystal clear view of the Hollywood Hills may have just transformed Mr. Right Now into Mr. Right.”

ROCK THE VOTE ROMPER, $64: “It was the summer of 1976 and Janie was busy getting ready for the election. It was the first year she could vote and there was no way her voice was going to be silenced. She shouted her views from rooftops, went on cross country rally trips and became a reporter on the candidates for her school newspaper. She knew how important her role to spread awareness was and what better way than with a fabulous romper to make everyone stare?!?”
